Manhub the new gay tube

So, okay.  This is probably not the intended reaction, but my first reaction upon visiting SpunkStarz.com is to giggle.  But it's a happy giggle!  There's something about the colors and the sparkles that just fills me with happy.  And when I see in some of the preview videos that the models bareback and there's the potential for them to also be filled with happy (albeit a completely different kind of happy), I am filled with even more happy.  While it seems that a lot of the models are twinks, I'm okay with that because they don't look super femme or super young.  Plus, some of them look a little rough and tumble, and that's my porn religion.

Upon logging in, the colors remain.  Normally I'd feel like my eyes were being affronted by baby boy blue and baby girl pink accented with neon banana yellow, but somehow it just all...works.  I can't really explain why.  The blue makes me feel calm, but the yellow keeps me titillated and wanting to search around for more.  And despite the fact that I've been writing paysite reviews for the past ten months, I believe that's the gayest sentence I've ever written.  The navigation, on the other hand, is a bit clunky.  The first half of the page is taken up by text regarding recent updates. However, the recent updates go two months back.  I get the desire to make sure your subscribers know what's new, but at two months, it's a little excessive.  In my opinion, go back two weeks and leave it at that.  Everything earlier is old news.  Especially when under the text are the actual video and photo updates, making the text unnecessary.

The video content suffers from downloading options.  Viewers can stream the video online using WMV (so sorry, Mac users), or can download the content in high quality or for the iPod.  Call me crazy, but I feel like that limits members of the site.  I personally don't like to download my porn and prefer to stream it, but in order to do so, I'd have to download WMV.  It's a bit of a catch 22. Luckily, each video has screencaps, so you can determine whether or not you want to download it based on the pictures.  Speaking of pictures, there seem to be more options for the photos than for the videos.  Photos can be viewed online in slide show style or downloaded in a zip file.

The content itself is give or take.  The pictures are, for the most part, pretty tame.  While the guys are generally pretty hot (and honestly, I've not seen a paysite before where the models are so consistently attractive), the photos don't really portray the action that the videos do.  The majority of the videos that I watched had this...something that made the sex a little hotter than I expected.  Whether it was twinks with a surprising amount of dominance, bottoms with filthy mouths and even filthier assholes (um...figuratively, not literally) or just some incredibly sizzling chemistry, the videos are just really hot.  In addition to the regular videos with sex, there are model interview videos and cumshot videos.

In addition to the extra interview and cumshot videos, Spunk Starz also gives members to the full CJXXX network of paysites.  This includes other paysites such as Defiant Boyz, Laughing Asians (which, hah!) and Str8 Boyz Seduced.  Spunk Starz also features a huge amount of video feeds that are updated on a weekly basis or a couple of times a week.  There are also live cams (always a great bonus) and a place to buy DVDs.  Last but not least are Flash games, which are basically porn versions of old casino games.  I may have spent the better part of my afternoon playing Ass Invaders.  What, you don't know me!

Overall, Spunk Starz.com is a surprisingly good investment.  The site could stand to restructure its navigation, add more viewing options and perhaps find a way to make the photos as exciting and the videos, but otherwise, they've got a hit.
